Child protection Summary for parents V1
By following child protection procedures we:
In the context of the size of Baoyin Oriental Dance and in an environment that Baoyin Oriental Dance operates, in which the provision of lessons is of short duration, and with parents usually around at the start and end each lesson Baoyin Oriental Dance has a simple procedure for reported or suspected incidents of child abuse. We recognise that the Children’s Act gives every child the right to protection from abuse and exploitation, and the right to have enquiries made to safeguard his or her welfare. Furthermore it is recognised that the primary responsibility for child protection lies with Social Services and the Police. In accordance with statutory requirements, Baoyin Oriental Dance reports to the relevant agencies cases of reported or suspected abuse and exploitation.
In the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames relevant concerns are referred to the Borough Child Protection Co-ordinator, Social Services or the Police.
Child protection issues will always be treated with consistency, sensitivity and discretion.
